Deriving its dazzling emerald hue and mottled blue-green specs from the River Amazon, the crystal stands for strength, harmony and adventure. Usually found in tabular crystals or a great mass with white webbing with a pearlescent sheen, its alluring beauty and mystical good luck properties made it a distinguishing feature of the lavish and opulent emperor tombs of Egypt. The famous gold mask of Pharaoh Tutankhamen is also decorated with Amazonite, combined with Lapis Lazuli and Carnelian. In ancient Egypt, it was carved into small amulets to increase fertility and attract good fortune, and to this day it is considered to be a star addition to any piece of jewelry or décor item.
