Malachite is instantly recognisable for its layers of rich green banding, with no two pieces ever forming quite the same pattern.

Sourced from the Democratic Republic of Congo, these natural Malachite spheres have been shaped and polished to reveal the mineral's distinctive concentric bands, waves and variations in green.

Traditionally associated with transformation and protection, Malachite is often chosen during periods of change — as a reminder to recognise old patterns, move through discomfort and make more conscious choices.

In sphere form, its pattern can be appreciated from every angle, making it both a meaningful crystal and a striking decorative piece for the home or workspace.

Malachite is naturally banded, and every sphere has its own arrangement of lines, rings and shades of green. Some pieces have tighter, more graphic banding; others have broader, flowing patterns.

For a decorative piece, consider the scale of the space as well. A smaller sphere works easily on a desk, shelf or bedside table, while a larger sphere has more visual presence in a living room, entrance or office.

Place your Malachite Sphere somewhere its natural pattern can be seen from different angles — on a shelf, coffee table, desk or entrance console.

You can also use it as a visual anchor during reflection or meditation, particularly when you're working through change, boundaries or decisions.

For those who work with traditional crystal properties, Malachite is commonly kept as a stone of transformation and protection.

What I love about Malachite is that you don't need to be interested in crystals to appreciate it.

The pattern does most of the talking. Every layer records a different stage of mineral growth, creating these almost topographic bands of green.

When choosing Malachite, I always look at the pattern as much as the shape — strong contrast, interesting movement and a sphere that looks good from more than one angle.

Malachite's distinctive bands form as the mineral grows in layers, which is why polished pieces can reveal rings, waves and sometimes almost eye-like patterns.

Its green colour comes from copper — Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral and commonly occurs in copper deposits.

Malachite is softer than quartz and requires a little extra care.

Keep away from prolonged contact with water, acids, household cleaning products and abrasive surfaces. Clean gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and dry immediately.

Avoid dropping or knocking the sphere against hard surfaces.

Do not use Malachite to prepare crystal-infused drinking water.

Crystals should never be used to replace proper medical treatment or used in lieu of seeking professional medical help.  Crystals are should not be used for children under 3 years old or pet without supervision.
