Unlike the vivid orange tones commonly associated with heat-treated amethyst sold as Citrine, natural Citrine typically displays more subtle shades of pale yellow, honey, and smoky gold.

Each point has its own character, with variations in color, clarity, inclusions, and natural crystal formation. No two specimens are exactly alike.

What I appreciate about natural Citrine is its restraint. It doesn't need to be bright orange to be beautiful. The subtle golden tones, natural inclusions, and individual crystal formations give each point a character of its own.

Citrine is the yellow to orange variety of quartz. Its color is associated with trace impurities and structural defects within the crystal.

Much of the bright orange Citrine available commercially is actually heat-treated amethyst. Naturally occurring Citrine is comparatively uncommon and often has more subdued yellow or smoky-golden tones.

Citrine has also earned the traditional nickname Merchant's Stone through its association with prosperity and commercial success.

Handle natural crystal points with care, as their tips and edges may chip if knocked or dropped.

Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth when necessary. Avoid harsh cleaning chemicals, sudden temperature changes, and prolonged exposure to strong direct sunlight, which may affect the color over time.
