Natural Congo Amethyst Point

Each is a natural crystal, so variations in color, inclusions, shape and surface markings are part of the piece.

Hold during meditation or moments of reflection; keep beside the bed as part of an evening ritual; place on a desk as a visual reminder to slow down and refocus; or display several sizes together as a natural mineral grouping.

It's the chunky natural points and concentrated purple tips that drew me to this Congo Amethyst.

I selected these alongside the larger clusters from the same source. I particularly like the individual points because you can appreciate the crystal's natural growth and color in such a simple form — nothing carved or polished, just Amethyst as it formed.

Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz. Its color is associated with trace iron within the quartz and natural irradiation during its geological formation.

Within a single point, you can often see the color becoming more concentrated toward the termination — which is particularly beautiful in these Congo specimens.

Handle from the body of the crystal rather than the termination; clean gently with a soft dry brush or cloth; avoid knocks against hard surfaces; and avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which may gradually fade Amethyst's color.

Crystals should never be used to replace proper medical treatment or used in lieu of seeking professional medical help.  Crystals are should not be used for children under 3 years old or pet without supervision.
